Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Institute Administrator who will play a central role in the management of the Oxford Robotics Institute. The role is based in central Oxford and is permanent.

 

The Oxford Robotics Institute is an institute within the Department of Engineering Science. It focuses on Autonomous Systems and its research covers all aspects autonomy, robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). It is based in dedicated building on the Banbury Road, central Oxford, and currently hosts approximately 100 members, including faculty, students, engineers, and professional staff.

 

You will be proactive and innovative in supporting the growth, sustainability and operation of the Institute, to anticipate and manage the effect of changes within the Institute, developing and implementing strategic and operational priorities. You will ensure that there is full alignment between the administration of the Institute and the wider Department, and to maintain close working relationships with senior support staff in the wider Department and University.

 

You will be educated to degree level or with equivalent experience. Experience of administration, including budgeting and resource planning in a complex financial environment is a must. You are also required to have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to use initiative and judgement to prioritise a range of tasks and competing demands under pressure. Experience of using financial applications such as Oracle Financials is also desirable.
