Description

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance (OMI).  The post is funded by the OMI and is fixed-term for up to 3 years.
 
The postholder will engage in advanced study and academic research and will contribute to the full range of research and academic life within the Oxford-Man Institute (OMI), with a strong focus on Blockchain Financial Economics and Decentralised Finance. Reporting to the Director of the OMI, the post-holder will help foster a vibrant and collaborative research environment within the OMI. This will involve leading, devising, coordinating, and supervising research projects in this area, including the work involved in the collaborations with project partners, guidance to students, participating in and organising seminars and conferences, and winning further funding to underpin the research. With a strong foundation in economics, finance, operations research, computer science, mathematical finance, or a related field, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop independent research ideas and contribute to advancing our understanding of decentralised markets and blockchain-based financial systems. Relevant areas include market microstructure, asset pricing, financial econometrics, risk management, macroeconomics and tokenomics, and market and protocol design.
 
The postholder should hold a relevant PhD/DPhil or be near completion in one of the following: Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a closely related subject. You should also have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
