Description
We seek to appoint a post-doctoral researcher in the field of battery characterization with a specific focus on understanding the performance, degradation and safety of Li-ion batteries .The post is funded by The Faraday Institution and is full-time, fixed-term until 30 March 2026.
The Faraday Institution's Degradation project is one of six Faraday Institution projects which aim to optimise the performance of lithium ion technologies.
To support the programme, the post holder will be required to carry out research on characterisation of battery degradation, with a particular focus on the application of advanced X-ray methods to explore chemical, crystallographic and morphological changes that drive battery performance loss.
You should possess a doctorate in a relevant engineering or physical science discipline with experience of experimental research in an electrochemical technology and experience of advanced materials characterization.
