Description
We are seeking a full-time Grants and Projects Assistant to join the Projects Team at the Department of Engineering Science in Central Oxford. The post is permanent. You will be a member of the Grants & Projects team which is part of the Finance team within the Department. This team supports the Post-Award financial management of the department’s research grants and trading contracts, looking after around 700 active projects across 118 academics, generating income in excess of £35 million per year.About The Role
The Grants and Projects Assistant will be part of the EngSci Projects Team and work closely with other team members to support the department's Post-Award activities. He/she will report to the Research Finance Manager
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that projects are correctly set up, managing the project closing list, coding external collaborator invoices, and supporting Senior Grants and Projects officers in collating information for all Audits.
You will also be responsible for supporting the Post-Award financial management of a portfolio of research/trading projects, ensuring that all expenditure is in line with funder and university regulations.
About You
You should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and should have previous experience of administration in a research environment, public sector environment or other large complex organization. Proven financial aptitude, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and concise financial reports is essential.
