Oxford Engineering educator awarded Google AI Fellowship and Advance HE Senior Fellowship
Dr Nikita Hari recognised for leadership in engineering education, pedagogical innovation, and responsible AI integration
Dr Nikita Hari, Head of the Teaching, Research Design and Support Group, has been awarded both an inaugural Google HE Faculty AI Fellowship and a Senior Fellowship of Advance HE in recognition of her contributions to engineering education and academic leadership.
The awards acknowledge Dr Hari’s work in pedagogical innovation, curriculum development, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into higher education teaching and learning. They also recognise her sustained impact within and beyond the University of Oxford, bringing together pedagogy, practice, people, and policy to support meaningful educational change.
She said: ''I am delighted to receive both fellowships, which reflect a shared commitment to research-informed, inclusive, and future-facing engineering education, alongside the thoughtful and responsible integration of AI into higher education. The Google HE Faculty AI Fellowship is an international initiative supporting higher education educators exploring the use of AI in teaching and learning, while Advance HE Senior Fellowship recognises experienced professionals who demonstrate sustained effectiveness in teaching and leadership in higher education.
Dr Hari’s achievements reflect the department’s ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching, innovation, and student experience.
