The Department is delighted to announce that our undergraduate MEng course is now accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS).

The RAeS is a multi-disciplinary professional institution dedicated to the global aerospace community. Founded in 1866, it is the oldest aeronautical society in the world. The objectives of society include: to support and maintain high professional standards in aerospace disciplines; to provide a unique source of specialist information and a local forum for the exchange of ideas; and to exert influence in the interests of aerospace in the public and industrial arena together with universities.

The accreditation panel reviewed our course during a visit in February this year. The panel highlighted the high calibre of our undergraduate students, the broad range of modules on offer and the high quality and extensive provision of laboratory facilities.

The RAeS is licensed by the UK Engineering Council to accredit programmes that meet their academic requirements and alongside the understanding, knowledge and skills to underpin professional competence, helps graduates on their way to Professional Registration.

Graduates who have completed the accredited MEng in Engineering Science degree have an advantage when they apply for professional registration as CEng and many employers give preference to graduates with accredited degrees.
