Biography
Aleix SeguĂ Ugalde is a DPhil student in the Scientific Computing group, joining in October 2025 with support from the "la Caixa" Foundation. His academic background spans dual degrees in Data Science and Engineering Physics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and an MSc in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from ETH Zurich. His doctoral research focuses on large-scale scientific data processing, with broader interests in data compression, scientific machine learning, and high-performance computing. Prior to Oxford, Aleix gained industry experience at Netflix and Qualcomm, bringing a strong applied perspective to his research.
