Biography
Jadwiga Supryn is a Doctoral Candidate in Management at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
Jadwiga holds a BSc in Business Studies from the UK, MSc in Financial Management from Poland and MBA from the US.
In addition to her international studies, she has transitioned to academia from the finance industry with over 7 years of experience in the US, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland and Poland. She worked with American Express Bank, Bank of New York Mellon, Crisil Global Research& Analytics (a Standard & Poor’s company), Credit Suisse, UBS and Manulife/John Hancock.
Her areas of work include treasury, alternative investment servicing in hedge funds, equity research in investment banking with coverage of banks, brokers and exchanges, wealth management, CFO strategic consultancy and advisory, and digital transformation. She has also pursued opportunities to conduct research and teaching activities in Norway and Denmark.
She leverages her professional background from the financial sector while pursuing her academic career. Jadwiga is interested in contributing to the community and academia. She has reviewed for several conferences and has been an active member of the community with her involvement at the Academy of Management.
Jadwiga is supervised jointly by Paulo Savaget and Eero Vaara. She is also a researcher at Oxford Future of Finance and Technology Initiative. Jadwiga enjoys teaching and is engaged in several teaching activities including: Diploma in Financial Strategy, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Research Interests
Jadwiga is working on research in entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy and finance, focused on digital transformation.
In her research on the emergence of financial technology (FinTech), she would like to enhance the understanding of digital transformation and investigate the impacts of FinTech on entrepreneurship, the economy, the financial system, regulations, social welfare, etc.
Her research focuses on studying mechanisms and processes in relation to how and why technology affords inclusive innovation and in particular, FinTech-led financial inclusion.
Jadwiga’s research interests include:
- Entrepreneurship;
- Grand challenges;
- FinTech;
- Digital transformation;
- Financial inclusion; and
- Literacy.
Her work has been featured internationally at seminars including the Academy of Management and the International Symposium on Process Organization Studies.
Her doctoral research is funded by the Saïd Business School Foundation and she is a member of Green Templeton College.
