Biography
Jiaying graduated with first-class honours in Chemical Engineering from University College London in 2022, with project experience in process modelling and renewable energy system design. She earned her MSc with Distinction in Advanced Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2023, focusing on advancing the UK’s energy transition in the residential sector through an agent-based energy system model.
Afterward, she undertook several R&D internships with companies like BASF, contributing to greener chemical production projects. Her research interests in decarbonising the manufacturing industry led her to pursue a DPhil with the Systems Engineering Group in October 2024, focusing on the decarbonisation of the steel sector through hydrogen and low carbon technologies and optimising regional supply chain configurations.
