Biography
Job Wijnen is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Mechanics of Materials Lab at University of Oxford, led by Prof. Emilio Martínez-Pañeda. Job’s research focuses on understanding of hydrogen assisted failure of welds in steel pipelines through modelling. He uses a multi-physics numerical approach which includes welding mechanics, phase transformations, hydrogen diffusion and fracture mechanics.
Before joining University of Oxford, Job obtained his PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology, where he studied microscale deformation mechanisms in multi-phase steels by using detailed crystal plasticity models.
