Biography
Josh is a South African doctor undertaking a DPhil in Engineering Science in the CHI Lab under the supervision of Professor David Clifton and Professor Chris Butler. He is interested in the development of medical AI tools that are guided by clinical need and utility. Josh has experience in modelling HIV and cancer risk using traditional statistics and machine learning based approaches and is passionate about the use of multimodal data in deep learning to better capture complex medical risk, with a current interest in the use of high throughput omics data. Josh is reading at Jesus College and is funded by a Rhodes Scholarship.
