Biography

Matthew Cooke completed his MEng in Engineering Science at Christ Church, University of Oxford in 2022. His final year project was the use of finite element analysis to resistively model PCB copper pours.

Matthew joined the Power Electronics Group in 2022 and is now a DPhil student under the supervision of Professor Dan Rogers. He is researching the use of wide bandgap devices in traction inverters to improve efficiency of electric vehicles.

Research Interests

Matthew's research interests include:

  • Utilising wide bandgap devices in traction inverters.
  • Designing high efficiency output filters.
  • Modelling loss mechanisms in drive systems.
