Biography
Miles Judd joined the University of Oxford as a DPhil Candidate in October 2021. Under the supervision of Professor Sinan Acikgoz and co-supervision by Marialuigia Sangirardi, he is working on the project “Masonry in-situ testing and material identification (MINT)”. His doctoral research, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), aims to estimate mechanical properties of existing masonry assets using Digital Image Correlation techniques (DIC) and the Virtual Fields Method (VFM).
During his BSc at the Technical University of Munich, Miles investigated “High-speed camera-based Operational Modal Analysis” using contactless, vision-based sensing technologies, thereby accumulating knowledge in Digital Image Correlation and Modal Analysis.
