Biography
Phoebe is a DPhil student at the Department of Engineering Science, within both the Solid Mechanics and Materials Engineering Group and the Podium Institute of Sports Medicine and Technology. Phoebe graduated from University of Oxford in 2022, obtaining a Masters in Engineering Science (MEng).
Current Research Project
Currently, she is working on the use of mechanics-informed machine learning to predict concussion from on-the-day assessments of athletes. A surrogate for brain finite element simulations is being developed, to allow real-time insight into the mechanics of injury. To improve injury identification, this insight will be combined with conventional injury assessment methods.
