Speaker Bio
Vicki Murdie is an Integrated Project Team Leader in Civil Aerospace within Rolls-Royce plc. She read Aeronautical Engineering as an undergraduate at Imperial College London and has gone on to become a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Vicki joined Rolls-Royce in 2002 as part of their Engineering graduate programme and has worked on every new product type in the Trent engine series since the Trent 900 which powers the iconic Airbus A380 ‘superjumbo’. She has performed varying technical roles and then developed her skills in technical and programme management. She has also worked on projects related to Research and Technology, interacting with the University of Oxford and the University of Southampton, and in transformational projects developing engineering competencies across the entire 15000 strong engineering function that supports all the company business sectors.
In her current role, Vicki works with a global team and supply chain to deliver the High Pressure Compressor components for a new variant of the Trent 900 engine. This is a fast paced project which aims to deliver enhanced engine performance and she is responsible for managing all aspects of work to support the design, development, testing, manufacture and seamless entry into service of the compressor components.
