We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable IT support professional to join our IT Team. The IT Team in the Department of Engineering Science provides a wide range of IT services to academic and administrative staff in locations across Oxford in support of cutting-edge research and world class teaching.


Reporting to the Research Support Manager you will be working in a varied IT team, providing computing support to research groups. The role involves managing workstations, servers and developing IT solutions for users in both Windows and Linux/Mac environments.


Working with us you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies and platforms. You can expect to be involved in service improvement projects looking at everything from collaboration using cloud data storage to virtual reality.

You should be a team player, with a ‘can-do’ mind set. You will need some experience of systems administration. A good understanding of computer networks and workstation architecture is also required.
