Postdoctoral Research Assistant(s) in Battery Characterisation

Grade 7 : £36,024 - £44,263 per annum

 

We are seeking two full-time PDRAs in Battery Characterisation to join Prof Paul Shearing’s research group at the Department of Engineering Science based at The Begbroke Science Park.  The projects is funded by UKRI and is fixed-term for 12 months.

 

The project is focused on battery characterization, specifically understanding the performance, degradation and safety of Li-ion and post Li-ion battery chemistries.  The project will be delivered collaboratively by academic and industry researchers providing a pathway to improve battery performance and translate research outcomes to real world impact. .

 

You should possess the following:

 

•            Hold a relevant PhD/Dphil or be near completion together with relevant experience

•            Possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline, including health and safety best practices, to work within established research programmes

•            Ability to manage own academic research and associated activities

•            Previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations

•            Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meeting.

 

Desirable additional criteria include:

•            Experience in materials characterisation

•            Experience of battery research or research in a cognate electrochemical technology
