Oxford’s New Chancellor Visits the Oxford Thermofluids Institute

Last month, the Oxford Thermofluids Institute (OTI) had the pleasure of welcoming the University’s new Chancellor, Lord Hague of Richmond, for a tour of its world-class research facilities.

During his visit, Lord Hague met with students and researchers and was introduced to the cutting-edge work taking place across the Institute.

The OTRF is a globally leading facility that supports UK engine manufacturers in developing next-generation cooling strategies for high-pressure turbines in both commercial and defence jet engines. The Chancellor’s visit also included a tour of the Institute’s hypersonic flow wind tunnels, which are supported by the EPSRC through membership of the National Wind Tunnel Facility.

Lord Hague expressed his appreciation for the scale and ambition of the research, as well as the vital role the Institute plays in advancing aerospace engineering in the UK and internationally.
