Claire Halloran is a Rhodes scholar studying for a DPhil in Engineering Science. Claire researches the spatio-temporal location of energy storage in developed power systems as part of the Energy and Power Group under the supervision of Malcolm McCulloch.
Prior to Oxford, Claire worked across academia, non-profits, startups, and the public sector on clean energy technology and policy in the United States. Claire holds a BSc in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with minors in energy studies and public policy.
Claire’s dissertation focuses on the spatio-temporal location of energy storage in power systems to incorporate more variable renewable generation and electrified loads into developed electricity networks. Claire is interested in the nexus of energy technology and policy to enable energy system transformation in response to the climate crisis.
