Co-Principal Investigator of Oxford Suzhou Centre for Advanced Research (OSCAR), Head of Optoelectronic Technology Laboratory, OSCAR Guest Professor of South China University of Technology

Biography

Jingsong Huang joined the Department of Engineering Science as a Visiting Fellow in 2021. Trained as a physicist and an engineer, his research relies primarily on the science and application of new semiconductor materials and devices, particularly in plastic light-emitting diodes and photovoltaic devices. His track record includes development of creative solutions, and delivery of products from concept to manufacturing across a range of industries. His work focuses on the development, design and application of novel optoelectronic technologies in the fields of energy efficient displays and lighting, photovoltaic energy generation, large-area electronics and bio-medical sensors, etc.

During his successful 20+ years of research activities in leading universities and R&D industries, he has published more than 50 peer-reviewed research articles, won six national and provincial science and technology awards, and established strong global networks in both academia and industry.

Currently, as the Head of Optoelectronic Technology Laboratory (OeTL) of Oxford Suzhou Centre for Advanced Research, he is leading the academic activities of the laboratory, promoting the research of plastic electronics for a real-world impact. In OeTL, they carry out expansive and pioneering work that can generate new technological growth points and new optoelectronic products in the applications of energy-saving, information display, internet of things, biomedicine and advanced micro-nano processing techniques, etc.
