Lecture Theatres

Applying to study with us?

If you’re successful, you’ll be coming here on your first day in the Department. The lecture theatres are where the biggest lectures take place, as well as being home to annual events like the Jenkin Lecture and Maurice Lubbock Memorial Lecture.

Below, you can take a look at some photos of the lecture theatres in use, or watch a video of the taster lectures that you could sit in on if you choose to join us for an Open Day

School students at Lubbock Lecture 2019

Professor Daniel Bulte delivers a taster lecture to prospective students at one of our Open Days. This is a great way to get a sense of what studying Engineering Science at Oxford is really like.

The lecture theatres are also home to the large-scale events we host for our alumni and visitors. Here's Sophie Mougard, principal of Ecoles des Ponts ParisTech, delivering the 2019 Lubbock Lecture: Engineering at the Crossroads.
