Biography
Boyan earned his PhD in Deep Learning and Machine Learning at the University of Edinburgh, supervised by Prof. Timothy Hospedales. His main research topic is gradient-based meta-learning (learning to learn) in the deep learning area, with a current focus on optimiser learning and loss function learning aiming to learn generalisable and reusable optimisation components on unseen novel tasks. Currently, he is working in the Computational Health Informatics (CHI) Lab with Prof. David Clifton on clinical machine learning.
