Daniel Dehtyriov

DPhil Candidate

Biography

Daniel graduated from Monash University with a First Class BE(Hons)/MEng in Aerospace Engineering. His background involves research experience in aircraft wake turbulence and numerical fluid mechanics at the Fluids Laboratory for Aeronautical and Industrial Research, alongside structural modelling experience through work with the Australian Department of Defence.

Daniel joined the University of Oxford in 2019 as a DPhil candidate funded by EPSRC on the WAMESS CDT.

Research Interests

Daniel's current research interests involve fundamental analytical advances in the limits of energy extraction from wind and tidal flows.

In the context of these theoretical developments, Daniel is more broadly interested in multi-turbine interaction, three-dimensional blade tip flows, and the stability of helical vortex structures in the wakes of turbines.

Daniel primarily uses analytical modelling and a combination of high- and low-order numerical simulation to carry out his research.
