Biography

Dr. David Richardson is a visiting Fellow in the Department of Engineering Science. He gained a bachelor of science in Metallurgy and Material Science from the University of Birmingham, graduating in 1980. Since then he has worked in advanced engine development, combustion and emissions research, initially with BL Technology and the Rover Group (latterly Rover/BMW) and then with Jaguar Land Rover Powertrain Research from 2000. He retired in 2019. During his industrial career he worked with a number of UK universities and was involved in many UK and European funded projects. His association with the Department of Engineering Science goes back to the mid 1990’s. He completed his PhD at the University of Bradford in 2018 where he is now a visiting professor.
