Biography

Zi is presently pursuing a DPhil degree in Chemical (Processing) Engineering within the esteemed Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. His research activities are supervised by Dr. Binjian Nie. Zi's educational background includes a Master of Science degree in Advanced Materials for Sustainable Infrastructure from Imperial College London (2019-2020), followed by a Master of Public Administration degree in Sustainable Infrastructure and Public Policy from UCL (2020-2021), which have endowed him with expertise in civil engineering and policy and strategy analysis. Prior to this, Zi completed his undergraduate studies at Southwest University of China.

Research Interests

Carbon Capture: Development and optimization of system designs for high-temperature CO2 capture, storage, and the efficient recovery and reuse of heat.

Energy Storage: Implementation of phase change material-based solutions for energy storage, encompassing the utilization of cool and heat from industrial processes, hydrogen, and other relevant sources.

Sustainable Development: Conducting data-driven and scientifically grounded policy research, with a particular emphasis on the establishment of comprehensive assessment frameworks for Global and China Cement Carbon Uptake.
