Your bite is a complex piece of machinery, with powerful jaw muscles and exquisite materials able to withstand acid attack, mechanical wear and bacterial invasion. Find out what scientists are learning about the biological materials in your mouth and how to protect them. What can you do to care for your teeth?

Ali Marie is a postdoctoral researcher in the Korsunsky Group, working on a project devoted to the study of human tooth decay.

Free dental kits are available in advance so you can take part in the interactive parts of this event (one kit per household; UK addresses only; while stocks last). Order your kit now.

This event takes place as part of Explorazone Digital. Register now, then return on Saturday 17 October, log in and enter the auditorium to view this event.

IF Oxford uses Pay What You Decide (PWYD) ticketing so you can choose to pay whatever you want, or can afford. You can make your donation after the event and the amount you pay is up to you. A suggested donation of £5 per person for each event enjoyed will help secure the future of the Festival.
