Dr. Elena Gal is a Senior Research Associate at the Computational Health Informatics (CHI) Lab. Elena obtained a PhD in Pure Mathematics from Tel Aviv University. Subsequently she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Oxford, where she did research in Geometric Representation Theory and Machine Learning. She worked in Prof. Terry Lyons research group and was a member of CIMDA-Oxford Research partnership, a collaborative project bringing together mathematicians and engineers working on a variety of machine learning and engineering challenges, as well as participating in a collaboration with Roche on longitudinal outcomes prediction for patients. Dr. Gal research interests include transfer learning, time series analysis, online learning, and fairness in ML, with a particular emphasis on healthcare applications.
- Transfer Learning
- Domain Adaptation
- Time Series Analysis
