Biography

Lucas is undertaking his DPhil through the Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Propulsion and Power. He has completed his Master of Research at the University of Cambridge as part of the same programme, following undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Cagliari.

Lucas’s research interests cover many aspects of gas turbine aerodynamics and heat transfer, including the investigation of novel cooling technologies. Currently, he conducts combined theoretical, computational and experimental work aimed at developing methods for the prediction of the impact of deterioration holing on the efficiency and life of High-Pressure Nozzle Guide Vanes (HPNGV).
